Lecture theatre - raked seating

The majority of lecture theatres at Aberystwyth have seats for a minimum of 50 persons and are characterised by an auditorium style layout with tiered rows of fixed seating. Rooms of this type are particularly suitable for traditional, front-facing, lecture-style teaching activities and for viewing activities, such as film screenings, in which the audience requires a wide view of the lectern and projection screens. The layout of these rooms is intended to enhance students' line of sight in relation to the lecturer and his/her use of visual aids, such as whiteboards, PowerPoint slides and audio-visual projection screens.
