The aim

For you to gain knowledge and skills, through a PowerPoint presentation and discussion, in dealing with presenting crisis situations, whilst maintaining professional boundaries and enabling the student to access the most appropriate support.

Description

The PowerPoint will provide an:

• What is crisis/distress?
• Warning signs and causes.
• Self-harm
• Suicide
• Your role – effective communication, de-escalation, signposting.
• Looking after yourself

Anonymous case study discussion is encouraged to support learning and opportunities to consider and engage in skills practice will be provided.
