EEA and Swiss students planning to come to the UK from 1 January 2021 will need to apply for immigration permission under the new immigration system.

Students coming to study for a course lasting 6 months or less will need to apply for a Visitor visa.

Students coming to study an English language only course lasting between 6 to 11 months will need to apply for a Short-term Study visa.

Students coming to study for a course lasting 6 months or more will need to apply for a Student visa.

Government Student Support and ‘home’ fees status eligibility

EEA and Swiss students starting a course after 1 August 2021 will not be eligible for home fees or student finance.
