TrACE Trauma-Informed University Project
Aberystwyth University is committed to becoming a trauma-informed community for staff and students. We are implementing the ACE Hub Wales Trauma Framework to help us build on our existing policies, practices and structures. Being trauma-informed means, simply, understanding that experience of trauma is widespread, and that we all have a role to play in avoiding retriggering, providing opportunities for recovery, and improving access to both community and specialist support.
TrACE looks for opportunities to work with individuals and teams of staff and students within the university and beyond to:
- Influence organisational culture across senior, operational, and student community levels
- Review and develop university policy and practice
- Develop and offer information and training to staff and students
- Enhance services to staff and students
- Review and develop physical spaces
- Monitor and evaluate existing and emerging TrACE projects
