Your comment: Considering we're currently doing online learning I really think having a Speech to Text software to add captions on recorded lectures (panoptos etc) is incredibly crucial for those who are deaf and hard of hearing. Please introduce this, as learning without subtitles on panopto and a clear image that isn't lagging through a live feed on Teams to lip-read is hard and is affecting learning. In 2021 I really believe this should have already been a thing as having subtitles on recorded videos is not a new concept and is widely available on most other medias such as YouTubes auto-generated captions

Thank you for your comment on lecture captioning submitted via Tell Us Now. There is a captioning option provided by the Panopto lecture capture system but we appreciate the quality, particularly for scientific content, can be problematic and editing the captions is very time consuming. We are currently looking at other options to replace this service.
