Paying for Open Access

Transformative agreements

To support the open access agenda, and to gradually change the existing publishing “pay-to-read” model, the University is provided with a block grant from UKRI which has been put towards transformative publishing agreements. Through these agreements, Aberystwyth corresponding authors can publish articles Gold open access with a range of publishers. For more information about individual agreements see Open Access - Transformative Agreements

Research, Business, and Innovation

Funds can be requested to support the costs of open access publishing, such as article processing charges (APCs), for research outputs that do not fall under one of the transformative agreements the university has in place. To apply for this fund, please use the Open Access Application Form.

External Partners

If you are collaborating with researchers at different organisations, you may find that as corresponding authors they have access to additional Transformative Agreements.
