Tim joined Aberystwyth University in November 2023 from Generation UK&I, the not-for-profit training and employability arm of global consultancy firm McKinsey and Company.  Joining at the inception of the UK&I operations, he led strategic activity across a portfolio of programmes.  This included the development of multiple partnerships which included Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, consequently overseeing the creation of Data Engineering, Data Analytics and AWS training and employment programmes in 5 regions across the UK & Ireland.  The output from this work enabled the organisation to support over 1000 individuals from under represented groups in to life changing careers. 

Additional Information

Originally from Mid-Wales, Tim has a background in Language, Literacy and Communication from Manchester University and also holds qualified teacher status alongside a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.  Tim has a wealth of professional experience in Project and Programme Management across financial services, travel and most recently skills and employability.  This has included delivering a series of programmes in Greater Manchester which have supported the growth of new business and connectivity between the activity of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, private and third sectors partners. 

Tim has enjoyed great success through fostering strong working relationships between stakeholders from different sectors and brings vast experience in stakeholder management.  

Responsibilities

As a Programme Manager, Tim's role involves planning, designing and monitoring a portfolio of projects designed to enhance the University's knowledge exchange and related commercial activity.  

Tim has a specific focus on new business and provides functional support to pillars of expertise, assurance to project steering groups and works to improve our capability and reputation for exceptional knowledge exchange services. The scope of work also includes involvement in the contractual aspects associated with external partners.
