Susan joined RBI in February 2019. Previously she worked in the E-Learning Team in Information Services.

Susan supported staff across the university. She provided E-learning and Information Services support.

Education and work experience

Sue has a Masters in International Politics from Aberystwyth University and worked in the E-learning team in Information Services before joining Research, Business & Innovation as a Research Impact Officer in February 2019.

Experience and knowledge

Susan has experience of working with staff across AU, dealing with and investigating queries, writing procedural guides, helping to provide and support procedural staff training, acting as clerk to a wider university committee and organising departmental training sessions.

Main responsibilities within RBI

Working closely with the other Research Impact & Knowledge Exchange Officers, Sue is responsible for helping to identify and develop impact case studies for the Research Excellence Framework. Her primary focus is working with staff in the Business School, Geography & Earth Sciences, Information Studies, International Politics, Law & Criminology and Psychology. This entails working with the Associate Deans (Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation) and departmental Directors of Research to promote the recording of research impact data and evidence. Along with the other Research Impact & Knowledge Exchange Officers, Sue can provide in-house training on research impact for academic staff.
