Helena joined RBI in June 2022, previous to this she had worked for Rural Health and Care Wales and the Books Council of Wales.

Main responsibilities at previous employment

Helena worked as the Development Officer for Rural and Health Care Wales with the responsibility of ensuring the development and collation of high quality research pertinent to rural health and wellbeing. Previous to this role Helena was Head of Sales at the Books Council of Wales with the main responsibility of ensuring that the sales and profile of books from Wales were maximised.

Education and work experience

Helena has an MA in Modern History from the National University of Ireland Maynooth. Helena has also learned to speak Welsh fluently.

Experience and knowledge

Helena has extensive knowledge of dealing with a variety of stakeholders across a broad spectrum, ranging from the Academic, Commercial, Health Care, Local Authority and the Third Sector and is very much aware that success is achieved through good quality, collaborative projects with effective communication.

Main responsibilities within RBI

Helena's main responsibilities include providing support for Aberystwyth University academics in engaging with businesses and organisations external to the University in seeking out opportunities for collaborative projects.
