Profile

Date joined RBI and previous employment

Charlotte joined RBI in December 2021. Prior to that, she worked as the HR Co-ordinator in Aberystwyth University’s Human Resources department.

Main responsibilities at previous employment

As the HR Co-ordinator, Charlotte was responsible for drafting contracts of employment for members of staff across the University. She also assisted with University recruitment and provided guidance on UK Visa and immigration queries.

Education and work experience

Charlotte grew up in the Midlands and upon leaving school at 17, moved to Aberystwyth, where she embarked upon a successful career in retail management, spanning a period of more than 17 years. Charlotte felt she was able to put the people management skills she had developed in retail to good use by working in HR, and after successfully establishing herself as a prominent and personable member of staff within the University, decided to apply for a role within RB&I.

Experience and knowledge

Charlotte’s previous experience has given her the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, skills that are particularly useful when working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Main responsibilities within RBI

Charlotte is responsible for providing a professional service when drafting, negotiating and reviewing research related contracts, across the University. This involves working closely with both internal and external stakeholders and liaising with a variety of individuals across different organisations.

Most enjoyable part of working at Aberystwyth University

Charlotte enjoys learning about the diverse range of projects that academic members of staff across the University are undertaking. Charlotte also enjoys reading about new and exciting research that is taking place across the organisation, and particularly appreciates being able to assist academic members of staff in securing projects that could have a positive impact on their, and the University’s, future success.
