Aber researchers have developed a system that allows a vehicle to autonomously drive across fields and along ill-defined tracks, such as grass and mud.

The vehicle follows instructions such as “drive across the field to a heading of 70deg for 500m until you find a track, turn left and drive on the track for 200m”.
