John joined RBI in October 2014. 

Education and work experience

John came to Aberystwyth from Llangollen in 2005 to do his undergraduate in Physics and never left.

Experience and knowledge

Physics gave John the background and skills to work with data and the mindset to work consistently across his various day to day tasks.

Main responsibilities within RBI

John’s main responsibilities include assisting researchers over the research lifecycle with data management; from planning, to implementation, and preservation. He ensures open access policy compliance and validation of records in PURE. He runs training for staff and students on research good practice and teach the same to a postgrad module. He provides user support for PURE and other systems we're responsible for. He also manages the equipment database and provides reporting to various levels on research metrics and KPIs.
