Date joined RBI and previous employment

Linda joined RBI in November 2012. Previously she worked at Eaga Partnership, a company which administered the Welsh Governments Carbon Reduction and Fuel Poverty programmes, called HEES and NEST across Wales, and prior to that worked for energy company SWALEC for 12 years, working in Energy Marketing and Energy Efficiency.

Main responsibilities at previous employment

Linda managed the delivery of the Welsh Government programmes, responsible for the supply chain and contractors, as well as reporting on Standard Assessment Procedure - (SAP), a government defined method of assessing energy efficiency. She reported on the number of homes and SAP savings achieved and dealt with customers queries, complaints and Senedd enquiries.

Education and work experience

Linda attended Cardiff University and has a BA Hons degree and a Diploma in Business Administration as well as NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification. She worked for SWALEC, working at the Royal Welsh Show for 10 years and then working in their energy efficiency department ensuring their licence obligations were achieved.

Experience and knowledge

Linda has extensive knowledge of working on large projects, working to deadlines, ensuring compliance on mandatory and regulatory requirements. She has worked with different industries and organisations achieve targets.

More recently she has worked on FP7 EU projects, structural funded projects, both ERDF and  ESF. Linda managed all aspects of KESS (Knowledge Exchange Skills Scholarships) which covered research projects applications, preparing contracts for external companies and students, delivering research projects. She has responsibility for fully understanding and complying with regulatory requirements and working to tight deadlines to deliver the programme.

Main responsibilities within RBI

Linda is supporting academics in their grant applications for Horizon Europe funding, organising Marie Curie fellowships and Doctoral networks applications and managing the Taith travel support funds.

Linda enjoys working with academics, external companies and students, which gives a great variety to the working day. She also enjoys learning new skills.
