Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:

Evaluate web development frameworks with regard to specific web development requirements.

Identify and address concerns relating to security and reliability in a web environment.

Discuss the relative merits of different web development tools, environments and frameworks to develop responsive, accessible, interactive website to meet specified requirement.

Brief description

The module will be highly practical and will enhance modern website development skills using appropriate frameworks and tools.

Aims

This module is intended for final year students on schemes G500, G501, H602, H603 (BIT and IC+Sys Admin.) It builds on CS25320 and CS22620. It requires students to demonstrate their ability to evaluate and apply a variety of web programming skills and technologies to meet specific web development requirements. The module will support CS39930, Web Based Major Project and will enhance graduates employability.

Content

Web development frameworks, persistent web-based data, security threats and countermeasures, ethical use of found materials, addressing the needs of different users, raising the profile of a website.
