There is no rulebook on how music is used in film; there are only guidelines and limitless imagination. Music is, however, limited by the considerations and goals of the film studio, the project’s producers, director, marketing /sales departments and budgets. Music can amount to a third of how a project unfolds, and can either have the power to turn a film into a huge success or leave it flat. This course aims to give students a deeper understanding of music’s place in the film industry.
