Aims
Research is central to the development of knowledge within most academic disciplines and Sport & Exercise Science is no exception. Understanding how to conduct research is important in enabling students to critically analyze existing research and to conduct an independent research project in the final year of their degree. Research Methods is therefore a key module in the portfolion of any undergraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Science. The aim of this module is to further develop students' understanding of research methods and methods of data analysis. The module introduces students to more advanced concepts and methods of data anlysis than those covered in the introductory module, SS19120 and encourages students to develop a more critical understanding of the research process. The module also provides the student with essential preparation needed to conduct an independent research project in their final year.
