Brief description
This is a thin module available subject to the regulations below (a) to Single Honours students; (b) to Joint Honours or Major/Minor students of two languages; (c) to Joint Honours students of a language plus another subject outside the Department; (d) to Major students of a language plus a Minor subject outside the Department.
Joint Honours and Major/Minor students of two languages will have to show how the subject of the essay spans both languages.
Joint Honours and Major/Minor students of a language plus a Minor subject outside the Department will have to show how the subject of the essay concerns both their language subject and their non-language subject.
The module is not available to students only taking a language as a Minor subject when their Major subject is outside the Department.
You should discuss your chosen subject with your tutor and agree it with the Extended Essays and Dissertations co-ordinator not later than 3 November. Discussion should include mutually acceptable arrangements for supervision time and completion of the Departmental agreement. Copies of the agreement form are downloadable from the Blackboard site for EL30120 (under ‘module information’), or are available from the Departmental Office, or from the Extended Essays and Dissertations co-ordinator.
