Brief description
This is one of the very few modules that is dedicated to one type of library organisation the school library and as such it requires us to offer some form of justification for this special treatment. For most of the past 150 years school libraries have been very much the Cinderella of library services in terms of status and the allocation of resources. Even today one still finds far greater local variation in the level of resourcing and nature of service provision from school library to school library than with any other type of library.
However, in recent years there has been a growing awareness of the contribution that a well-equipped and well-resourced school library can make to student’s learning experiences
