Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Evaluate responses to exercise to monitor and analyze the performance of the client.
2. Demonstrate the practical skills and techniques required to monitor and evaluate participants using physiological analyses.
3. Demonstrate an awareness of health and safety, risk assessment and ethical considerations.
4. Work cooperatively with a team.
Brief description
This module is concerned with the analysis of human performance in a sports and/or clinical setting. A range of measurement techniques covering biomechanical, physiological and psychological approaches will be covered. Practical skills will be developed to assess athletes/clients and evaluate the data collected appropriately. Measurement techniques that will be covered include oxygen uptake during exercise, psychological profiling of athletes and movement analysis of gait and other movements.
