Aims
Interpersonal dynamics contribute to individuals' behaviours, performance and subjective experiences, and to groups' performances in both sport and exercise settings. Researchers have investigated relevant dimensions of interpersonal dynamics such as the group environment, member attributes, and group structure. Understanding interpersonal dynamics assists sport and exercise scientists in the application of their knowledge and interventions, and is fundamental to a sound education in sport and exercise psychology. As such, this module will contribute to students' preparation for jobs in the sport and exercise industries.
Brief description
The module will introduce students to key concepts associated with interpersonal dynamics in sport and exercise contexts, through considering relevant theories, key research studies, and where suitable for level 1, practical application. The main aim of the course is to provide an introductory examination of the key psychological factors affecting interpersonal dynamics in sport and exercise contexts.
