Brief description
This module will have a short series of lectures that cover the skills required for a successful application and interview for a graduate level job, using the careers service, and the need to develop skills through a degree. Students will also be encouraged to consider the Year in Employment Scheme, Erasmus and other opportunities in these lectures. The lectures will be followed by an assessed job application and interview. Where possible, the interview will be filmed (for personal feedback only) and reviewed in a reflection session later. There will be a student seminar on an aspect of the skills required for a successful career in related areas. Additionally, there will be a series of visits to relevant employers in the region, indicative of possible career paths.

Content
An application and interview for a fictitious job, interviewed by a panel consisting of the student's tutor, two other students and a postgraduate student. Students will rotate between being interviewees and interviewers. Where possible, this will be filmed. This will be followed by a review session of the interview.
A group presentation of an aspect of the skills required for a successful career.
A series of visits to graduate employers of relevant careers.
