Aims
The learning aims and objectives of the module are threefold: First, it explores the place of the developing world within the global economy, by analyzing the relationship between states and markets through the understanding of free or fair trade as concepts of central importance to the Third World and North-South relations. Secodn, it examines the societal and cultural aspects of the developing world in order to explore how Western cultural representations of the Third World affect North-South relations, and also explores cultural, religious and ethno-nationalist conflicts within the developing world.
