Brief description
This module is intended to give the student a broader experience of painting across a diverse range of subject matter. It builds upon the instruction and technical acquisition of drawing skills given in AR10120 Art Practice 1 (semester 1) and augments instruction being given concurrently in AR10220. Having developed an initial authority over some of the fundamental aspects of graphic representation, this module proceeds to apply and extend this knowledge to painting. One of the benefits of this module will be to teach students in smaller groups than is practical in AR10120 and AR10220 and to facilitate a greater degree of choice in subject matter. As such it forms part of a progression towards Level 2 art practice.
Aims
This module incorporates and extends the content of AR10420 and gives the student more choice of painting topics. It also enables more members of art practice staff to contribute to first year teaching if required
