On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
You will be able to translate simple sentences from Old Irish.
You will be able to read elementary literary texts, and understand their place in the history of Irish literature.
You will have mastered some fo the basic elements of the Old Irish language.
Brief description
Introduction to the main features of Old Irish (c 7th - 10th centuries) with study of some representative and interesting texts. Students will be expected to prepare material on a weekly basis.
