Did you have any anxieties about studying online?

‘No - no anxieties - just excitement to be able to do something even during covid!’

What helped you make the decision?

‘My tutor encouraged me - although I’m not experienced or have any background - she encouraged me to have a go - and just keep on trying and learning. It was good advice :) ‘

How did you feel about the pace of learning?

‘The pace of the learning was fine - my work didn’t always fit in with it - but it was great to have it there as a challenge and opportunity to spend some time on developing new skills and pleasures.’

Did it give you any new insights or skills that you havent used before?

‘My skills in drawing and watercolour painting have definitely grown - as I had nothing before and now I can make pictures which other people can recognise! And I’ll eventually get better at all the rest - colour, value, structure etc.’

How did you feel about the pitch and tasks within the learning units?

‘It would be helpful to have a few super basic intro videos for all the essential skills which are ‘assumed’ for each course. I know most people will have them but some not - so a small bank of essentials… would be really helpful I think.’

How did you find the tutor support?

‘She was fabulous - always happy to help and give advice, encouraging and speedy with feedback. Great tutor!’

In one sentence sum up your experience...

‘ I’ve loved learning about drawing and painting and being able to work at my own pace, go back over things I’ve needed more time on or had to rush before - and really happy to be developing new creative skills.’
