MA Study in the Department of International Politics

Join the first Department of International Politics in the world for an excellent postgraduate experience.

The Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University still has spaces on its Masters programmes and on its MPhil programme for September 2021 entry.

Our MA International Relations is a one-year course pursued either as a ‘specialist’ or ‘research training’ degree.

Starting in September 2021 we have our new MA War, Strategy, Intelligence, one-year 'specialist masters degree.

We are also very pleased to have a new MA International Politics (Dual Degree with American University). This is a two-year programme with 12 months at Aberystwyth University followed by 12 months in Washington DC at American University.

Finally, we have an MPhil programme, which is a research-based programme providing an opportunity to research and write a 60,000-word thesis.
