Justyna Anna Nalepa-Grajcar

Profile

My background is in pharmaceutical and recently has moved to the world of bioinformatics and molecular biology. My bachelor majored in drug formulation and medical chemistry. Studying the deeply complicated networks in both fields inspired me to pursue research. I worked in the GSK Inhaled Biopharmaceutics group focussed on studying particle-particle interactions and electrostatic effects of inhaled powders. Both gave me remarkable insight into the way research evolves and develops.

More recently my interests have focused towards computational biology as I find the exploratory aspect of biological research particularly interesting. Currently, I am writing my PhD thesis about how I designed a set of PCR primers using Selective Whole Genome Amplification that preferentially amplify Toxoplasma DNA rather than human DNA.
