Jon Baker has successfully defended his PhD thesis, entitled 'the interaction between the oxygen uptake kinetics and the power-duration relationship'. The first study of his thesis examined the physiological effect of 'priming exercise' on subsequent exhaustive exercise and this work has been published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
His other studies investigated the differences between upright and supine exercise, and following blood donation and induced alkalosis in order to better understand the physiological underpinnings of endurance exercise performance.
