SUSTAINABILITY

Concept Note: We are delighted to announce the Aberystwyth University Postgraduate Research Conference 2025 (PGRC 25), to be held on 7 April 2025. This year’s conference will focus on the central theme of ‘Sustainability’, staging the most pressing issues of our time by bringing together emerging voices from across disciplines. We invite student from various postgraduate courses and Early Career Researchers to contribute their ideas and perspectives.

The conference offers a platform to present original research, participate in interdisciplinary discussions, and network with peers and academic staff. We are particularly interested in submissions that explore the multiple dimensions of sustainability within and across diverse fields of study. Join us at the PGRC 25 to contribute to meaningful discussions and share your insights on sustainability.

Sub-Themes to include (but not limited to):

• Environmental Sustainability and Conservation
• Sustainable Technologies and Innovation
• Economic perspectives on Sustainability
• Law, Politics and Sustainability Policy
• Interdisciplinary approaches to Sustainability
• Sustainability initiatives in Wales
• Linguistic sustainability
• History of using technology for sustainable purposes
• Sustaining and preserving material culture/physical items and documents for future generations
• Literary/performance sustainability
• Creating sustainable art
• Sustainability in Teaching/Research
• United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)

Abstract Submission starts: 16 December 2024

Deadline: 12 February 2025 12:00 Noon

Notification of Acceptance: 3 March 2025

Submission Guidelines

We invite abstracts for oral and poster presentations related to any of the sub-themes above. Submissions from all disciplines are encouraged, and we particularly welcome interdisciplinary projects that foster new approaches to sustainability.

Best Abstract Awards

The best abstract/s presented will be selected by the technical programme committee members on the conference day and will be awarded gift vouchers.
