I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, although I am partially retired and I work one-third time. My main responsibility is as Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and the Student Experience in the Faculty of Business and Physical Sciences.
Additional Information
I have been an auxiliary coastguard for over thirty years.
I chair the BCS Mid-Wales Branch. I am treasurer of the Aberystwyth Bibliographical Group and secretary of the Aberystwyth and District Civic Society. I am also interested in archaeology and history, particularly the history of Roman Britain.
Through my connections in the USA, I am a member of the St. David's Society of Pittsburgh and a co-chair of the Wales-Pennsylvania Project which aims to preserve the Welsh heritage in Pennsylvania and more widely across North America.

Lecturer
I have no teaching duties at the moment, although I supervise a few students on industrial placement.
Research
My research interest was in software security, especially the development of rules for the production of secure programs in Java. This work was carried out in collaboration with the CERT Secure Coding Initiative at the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA, but I am no longer research active.
