Project: Simpsons

Technical details:

We have a small fleet of Pioneer robots (four P2DXe's, one P2AT and three P3AT's) which are named after Simpsons characters. They all have a basic set of equipment, such as on-board computer, wireless Ethernet, sonar ring, and some are equipped with a variety of other devices: grippers, bumpers, frame-grabbers, cameras (omni-directional and PTZ), compass, GPS, etc.

Research / Projects:

Our Pioneers are used in many research projects (such as visual navigation and biologically inspired control) and are also used for teaching as part of labs and student projects.
