Facilities

The department features excellent teaching facilities and specialist research laboratories.

Along with several departmental and faculty teaching laboratories equipped with a range of workstations, you will have access to about 800 PCs located throughout the campus, including our own building, the main library, and the student halls of residence. All are connected to the internet and many are open 24 hours a day. All student bedrooms have wifi network connections.

For some modules, students will have access to their own individual equipment for the duration of that module, including Arduino micro-controllers and small robotic platforms.

The Department has an extensive range of equipment used primarily for research, some of which is available to final year students who choose projects in these research areas. This includes three well-equipped robotics labs covering indoor, outdoor and space robotics, as well as a lab specialising in mixed reality covering virtual, augmented realities, and motion tracking systems.
