Clearing Visits
Your Invitation
We are pleased to invite you to attend a Clearing Visit at Aberystwyth University.
Dates and Times
Clearing Visits will be available on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August 2023. You can arrive any time from 11:30 onwards. This is when you can speak to central staff and Student Ambassadors along with representatives from our Admissions, Student Support and Accommodation teams. You will also be provided with free lunch vouchers, to be redeemed in the Arts Centre Cafe.

What to expect?
Visiting us will give you the opportunity to talk to academic staff in your chosen academic department, as well as meeting staff from our Accommodation, Admissions, Student Recruitment & Widening Participation and Student Support Teams.
You will also be able to take a tour led by a Student Ambassadors around our beautiful campus. The campus tour is a walking tour and takes around an hour. We will be able to show you the location of academic departments and take you to see several on-campus facilities, including the library, student study spaces, lecture theatres, the Arts Centre and the Sports Centre. You will also be able to view a selection of on-campus accommodation options.
This is a great opportunity to get a feel for the University location and surrounding area.
Supporting Your Visit
We are pleased to contribute towards your Clearing Visit expenses. As a Clearing Visitor you can claim up to a maximum of £75.00 based on the distance of a one-way journey between your home postcode and a specified university postcode. The online expenses claim form will be shared with you following your visit.

As a Clearing Visitor, you will also be offered a free lunch voucher, to be redeemed at the Arts Centre Cafe.
We are also delighted to offer one free night's accommodation for you (the applicant) and one parent/guardian, at our accommodation in Fferm Penglais, between 17 and 20 August 2023. Please see FAQ page for further information.
Additional Support
Please note that we can offer additional support for care leavers, looked after children, young carers, those with no family support and other widening access groups. If the Clearing Visit expenses maximum would stop you visiting, please contact the Widening Participation team on ydmstaff@aber.ac.uk for further information.
