The value of ecosystem services in Malaysia

The CRiSis team is currently developing research links with Malaysia [National University of Malaysia (UKM) and Taylor's University]. The research projects aim to develop research programmes focussing on the value and management of forest ecosystem services with particular interests considering natures contribution to people. Research themes will consider the value of forests and ecosystem services to indigenous people and how this can feed into environmental policies helping to protect these diverse habitats. Another area of interest will be investigating the possibility of underplanting palm plantations, whilst improving grazing for livestock and benefitting local economies.
