Your Enrolment
On this page, you will find everything you need to know about enrolling with us, and the different stages you need to complete to officially become a student at Aberystwyth University!
We have created two checklists. One is a simple step by step guide, and the other a slightly more detailed version if you require more information.
You will receive e-mail prompts when you need to complete each stage so please check your inbox regularly after activating your Aberystwyth University IT account. You might want to bookmark this checklist also so you can jump back in whenever you need to.

AtAber – Extended Induction
This is your place to discover, learn and grow.
As you start to familiarise yourself with the university we want to support your transition to university, and for you to get to know the University better. Our AtAber – Extended Induction themes focus on seven key areas that will allow you to make the most of your time with us during your transition.
We will have some events organised in relation to the various themes, from Aber Support and Wellbeing to Aber Languages and Careers during this transition period. You can find more information in our Induction Events Planner.
Your Campus
We have a vibrant campus with stunning views of Cardigan Bay. Your student life will be enriched by our active Students’ Union (Undeb Aberystwyth), which runs more than 100 different clubs and societies. We have our own Sports Centre that offers facilities ranging from a brand new gym with 130 stations to a swimming pool, floodlit 3G pitch, and even a Nordic saunarium. Our on-site Arts Centre is one of the largest in the UK with theatre, exhibition and performance spaces as well as a boutique cinema, bar and cafés. Your Student Support Service
Student Services are here to help you make the most out of your time at Aberystwyth University and maximize your opportunities after graduation. Working collaboratively across the University and with external services, we offer all students a range of support and resources, no matter what challenges you might face.
Our friendly teams are available all year round, Monday to Friday, to give advice and support on a wide range of subjects, including accessibility requirements, wellbeing needs, financial advice, visa support, and career guidance.
Your Lifelong Learning
Stand out from the crowd with our free Degree Boosters
Alongside your degree programme, you can take one short course per term, free of charge, in a wide range of subjects including: Languages, Professional Development, Ecology, Art and Design, Creative Writing, Archaeology, Genealogy, History, Natural History Illustration.
Study courses that complement your degree, pursue a subject that you’re passionate about, work towards a qualification or simply try something new and learn for the fun of it!

Your AberSkills Portal
AberSkills is a centralised bilingual platform providing a comprehensive range of skills guidance, advice, resources, and support all conveniently located in one place. The platform serves as a one-stop-shop where you can access diverse information and materials to enhance your academic, study, and professional skills. Whether seeking assistance with writing assignments, refining mathematical and statistical abilities, or participate in workshops focused on good academic practices and skill development, AberSkills offers a user-friendly space for you as an Aber student to develop and improve various aspects of your skill set.
Working in collaboration with other skills service departments within the University, AberSkills is dedicated to fostering personal and academic growth, ensuring that you as a student will have the necessary tools and support to excel in your studies and beyond.
