Our Grounds
Located only a short stroll downhill to Aberystwyth town, the Penglais Campus is the University’s main teaching campus. The campus has many hidden treasures which include nature trails, wildlife and a wide range of plantation. Discover more below.
Botany Gardens
The University-owned botany gardens glasshouses are conveniently located directly across the road from the main Penglais Campus. The gardens were purchased by the University in 1946 the University and within two years the house was extensively renovated and enlarged, while the wilderness around it was being tackled by the garden staff, who created the lovely garden, with lawns sweeping down to the little brook and beds of shrubby and perennial plants. Also, large wooden- framed glasshouse was erected, along with a single storey brick building which now constitutes our present potting- and storage-sheds.
Students' Union
The Students' Union (SU) is a student-based community space where students are able to socialise, eat food, buy drinks, play pool and watch live sports. The SU offers facilities and services such as Starbucks coffee, Nosh Da food, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks at the SU Bar, the SU shop and student support services.
Campus Walks
Campus Walks
There are three campus walks on our main Penglais Campus that we recommend. Along these three walks there is a chance to look at some rare trees that were planted by Aberystwyth University. The walks all start at the Sports Centre and last between 20-40 minutes. Campus walks map.
