The 2024 graduation ceremonies get underway at Aberystwyth University tomorrow, Tuesday 16 July.

This year, seven ceremonies will take place over three days from Tuesday 16 until Thursday 18 July in the Great Hall at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

The University will also confer seven Honorary Fellowships to exceptional individuals who have excelled in sport, science, the arts, business, and the third sector.

This year Honorary Fellowships will be presented to Welsh football legend Jess Fishlock; Chief Executive of Race Council Cymru Professor Uzo Iwobi; award-winning author Manon Steffan Ros; internationally renowned microbiologist Professor Sir Stewart Cole; co-founders of The Do Lectures and Hiut Denim Company Clare and David Hieatt; and CEO and Founder of This Works Dr Anna Persaud.

Professor Jon Timmis, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, said:

“It will be a pleasure to welcome our graduating students back to Aberystwyth this week, and to celebrate their success in the company of their families, friends and supporters. This year’s cohort of students will share the stage with seven remarkable individuals who have excelled in their field, and who we will be presenting with Honorary Fellowships.

“As well as being a memorable milestone in our graduates’ lives, graduation is the annual highlight of the University’s calendar, and I am really looking forward to my first ceremonies as Aberystwyth University Vice-Chancellor.”
