Brief description
This module will enable you to become competent subject and phase specialists by developing your understanding of discipline knowledge to meet the professional standards. You will begin to develop your competence in curriculum design and incorporate cross-curricular skills and cross-cutting themes into your practice. You will explore and evaluate research and theory relevant to your subject and phase specialism. You will begin to understand the diverse and changing nature of the school population and develop a person-centred approach in your practice in order to create inclusive classrooms. You will develop an understanding of theories of assessment.
Aims

Content
2. Cross-curricular skills (literacy and numeracy); Principles of Progression.
3. Inclusion and differentiation: understanding behaviour; understanding the diverse influences and barriers of personal, social and cultural factors on learners.
4. Cross curricular skills (digital competence framework); evaluating the learning; use of data and beyond to inform planning and identify progress.
5. Learning environments - management and organisation; Health and Well-being.
6. Assessment for learning; curriculum design.
7. Collaboration with other professionals to support additional learning needs; anti-racist pedagogy.
8. Reflecting on practice and identifying targets; Cross curricular and interdisciplinary themes / collaborative planning task.
9. Partnership Days: Reflecting on practice; evaluating the learning / assessment to inform planning; reporting on progress; working collaboratively e.g. with the ALNCo; wellbeing – teachers.
