Student StartUp Competition
If you are a student or 2024/25 graduate with a business or social enterprise idea then why not enter and give yourself a chance to win a share of £10,000 & other cash prizes?
- With a £10,000 prize fund on offer (as well as other valuable prizes) If you have an idea for a social enterprise, self-employment, Freelance or any StartUp idea we want to hear from you!
- We offer FREE start-up mentoring to help you apply.
‘A great way to help you to turn your “good idea” into a successful Freelance career or thriving business’.
Prize categories:
- Sustainability/Eco Business - that focus on environmental sustainability, green technology, or eco-friendly products and services. This could include renewable energy solutions, zero-waste initiatives, upcycling businesses/community projects, or sustainable fashion.
- Social Enterprise - that aim to create a positive social impact while remaining financially sustainable. These startups could address social issues such as poverty, education, mental health, or community development through innovative business models.
- Creative Arts - Businesses or freelance projects that operate in the arts and creative industries. This includes startups in theatre, music, film, photography, design, publishing, or any other artistic fields.
- Science/Tech-Based - that showcase scientific research or technology to create innovative products or services. This could range from app’ development and AI-based solutions to biotech, robotics, or engineering innovations.
- Local Business – that serves a local community, such as retail stores, cafes, a community group or a service-based business. These startups focus on enhancing the local economy and providing unique products or experiences to their customers.
Try to include as much information on the application form as possible………..fill in all the sections you can.
Attend Summer Start-up Week on 4th-6th June to gain as much knowledge as possible

Make sure you are explaining your idea clearly and enthusing/exciting the judges about your new venture.

There will be the opportunity for informal networking session at the end of each day until 5pm.
Come and talk to the 'Enterprise Team', we provide current students, graduates and others with the support they need to either, become freelance/self-employed, set up their own business/social enterprise, launch a scalable startup or develop essential enterprise skills.
We offer inspirational events, skill development workshops, specialist mentoring, annual student business competition, plus advice and guidance through our 1:1 appointments.
